Galesburg Silver Streaks Boys End Losing Streak Against Taylorville

The Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team get a much deserved victory in the Taylorville Holiday Tournament over the host Taylorville Tornadoes, 57-45. The Streaks went through adversity against a tough Taylorville team along with being short on players; however, the Streaks rode an impressive first half to end a six-game losing streak. The Streaks are now 5-11 on the season.

Junior Tyree Taylor was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch-Time Player of the Game for getting the team going right away in the first quarter. He ended the game with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block.

The Streaks will play their final game of the tournament tonight (12/29) against Rochester. Brad Bennewitz and Jason Wessels will bring you live coverage starting with the pregame at 4:40 PM on 93.7 FM & 1400 AM  WGIL, as well as streaming on wgil.com.
