Galesburg Girls Win Big Over Normal West

The Galesburg girls basketball team ended a 3-game losing streak Monday night with a win over Normal West, 80-55. The Silver Streaks are now 21-5 on the season.

Kiarra Kilgore led the Streaks with 33 points. Alexis Edgerson finished with 20 points, including 5 for 5 from the free throw line, and the third player finishing with double digit scoring was freshman Jozalyn Kilgore with 10 points. Overall Galesburg was 30 of 53 for 57% shooting on the night.

Alexis Edgerson really got the Streaks running early in the game hitting 3 of her first 5 three-point shots along with a couple of free throws in the first quarter. Alexis finished the night with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal and was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch-Time Player of the Game!

Next up for the Galesburg girls is a long road trip to Serena Tuesday (1/31) night for a non-conference game with the Huskers. Pregame coverage with Tom Meredith and Erik Gibson will begin at about 5:40 Tuesday night on 93.7 FM and 1400 AM WGIL and wgil.com.
