United Junior/Senior High School in Monmouth was evacuated for a time late Tuesday morning for a “suspected gas leak.”
According to a social media post, students remained outside the school until the gas leak is fixed by Ameren Illinois.
After about an hour, the district said students were given the all clear to go back inside the school. School was expected to dismiss at the normal time Tuesday afternoon.
