Can you imagine what it would have been like to be in New Orleans on New Year’s Eve?

David and Kristi Martinson, Galesburg natives now residing in Texas, were visiting Bourbon Street the night of the deadly terrorist attack. They were in New Orleans to celebrate David's birthday and to attend the Sugar Bowl.

Fortunately, David and Kristi had left Bourbon Street just hours before the attack, and awoke to learn of the incident the next morning.

David Martinson joined WGIL's Jay Redfern and Chris Postin on Galesburg's Morning News to talk about the experience.
