Week of the Young Child: Empowering futures through education

Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration usually observed in the first or second week of April — from April 5 to April 11 this year. It is sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children to promote the importance of early childhood education.

Locally, each day this week will feature a different theme leading up to a parade for all Bright Futures classes Friday, April 11 at Galesburg High School.

District 205 Educators from Bright Futures Jami Mahnesmith, Brenna Eddington, and Carie Kuberski joined Galesburg's Morning News to talk more about the week.
