With its centennial anniversary now in the rearview mirror, Galesburg’s Bunker Links Golf Course is gearing up for another exciting season in 2025.
Play officially began on March 11, but a chilly and windy spring has made for a slower start. Golf professional Bryan Luedtke joined WGIL's Jay Redfern and Tyler Gumm on Galesburg's Morning News to share what’s in store for year No. 101 at Bunker Links.
Highlights of the interview include:
- Last year set a record for rounds played in the last 11 years, with just over 33,000 rounds.
- The course offers various affordable pricing options, including season passes for seniors, regular adults, juniors (under 19), and young adults (19-25), as well as daily fees, twilight rates, and punch cards. They also have a family golf program.
- New marketing videos are being created for Facebook, using parodies of famous movie scenes to promote golf and Bunker Links.
- The course has an "Eagle Eye camera" on the 18th green that streams to a TV in the clubhouse with a 10-minute delay, allowing golfers to watch their group finish the last hole.
