Galesburg High School senior Carson Olson, hailed by Coach Ray Van Hootegem as the fastest swimmer in Silver Streaks history, has been named the 2025 Male Don Morris Multi-Sport Award winner for the Western Big 6 Conference.

The award, honoring Alleman’s late coach Don Morris, recognizes senior multi-sport athletes with a 2.5+ GPA for excellence in sports, academics, and community. Each conference school may nominate one boy and one girl with selections made by the principal and athletic director. Sterling’s Madison Austin is the female recipient of the 2025 Don Morris Award.

Olson is Galesburg’s 11th recipient since 1984, joining Deb Roberts (1984), Cammi Heimann (1991), Anne Henderson (1993), Caricia Andrews (2001), Shayli Florine (2016), Patrick Hanlon (1998), David Anderson (2006), Greg Whittle (2009), Travon Diggins (2013), and Jeremiah Morris (2022).

Olson earned nine varsity letters in swimming, tennis, and golf, holding school swim records in the 200 IM, 100 fly, 500 free, and 200 medley relay. He placed ninth in the 200 IM (1:51.95) and 14th in the 100 Fly (:50.00) at the IHSA state meet, earning WB6 MVP and state finalist honors.
