Hudson was the most popular name for boys born in Knox County in 2025, while 10 names tied for the most popular among girls, according to the Knox County Clerk & Recorder’s Office.
A total of 307 boys and 297 girls were born in the county last year. For girls, Amara, Emery, Harper, Isabella, Josephine, Nova, Oaklynn, Sophia, Stella and Violet each had three births. For boys, Hudson led with six, followed by Levi (five), Isiah and Samuel (four each) and Liam (three).
“It is one of the fun parts of the job to compile the baby names for the year,” Knox County Clerk & Recorder Scott Erickson said. “You never know what names will come out on top each year.”
The clerk’s office tracks baby names as part of its vital records duties, which include birth, marriage and death records, along with property records, elections and official county board records.
