REPLAY: GHS Silver Streaks girls basketball vs United Township

Saturday afternoon at John Thiel Gym, the Galesburg Silver Streaks girls basketball team dominated in their conference win over the United Township Panthers, 64 - 33. The Streaks are now 25 - 3 on the season and 11 -2 in the Western Big 6 with only one more regular season game before Regionals.

Galesburg had a season-high 12 players contribute to the scoring, led by Zaniyah Carter with 14 points, Jozalyn Kilgore had 13, Ella Herchenroder with 11, and 4 points each by Keerah Cooper, Ellie Johnson, and Grace Herchenroder. Overall, the Streaks shot 25 of 51 from the field, 8 of 19 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 6 of 6 from the free throw line. They pulled down 32 rebounds, had 19 assists, and committed 18 turnovers to 25 by the Panthers.

Junior Abigail Casey was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. With her basket off the bench in the 2nd half, all of the Silver Streaks team members have now scored in a game this season. She finished with 2 points and 3 rebounds.

The final game of the regular season for the Galesburg girls basketball team is Thursday night on the road at Rock Island. Mitch McVey and Jason Wessels will have live coverage from the Rock Garden starting at 6:45pm on 93.7 FM and 1400 AM WGIL and wgil.com.
