The Galesburg High School boys swimming and diving team won its fourth consecutive Western Big 6 Conference Swimming & Diving Championship on Saturday at Sterling High School.
The Silver Streaks scored 295 points to outpace runner-up Sterling (240 points).
Galesburg Coach Jake Miller said the meet came down to consistent performances from the team’s top eight swimmers.
Galesburg won all three relays but had only one individual champion — freshman Samuel Puerta in the 100-yard breaststroke. The Streaks placed two swimmers in the top six in every event.
“That added up to a pretty convincing victory,” Miller said.

The Streaks have now won four straight WB6 boys titles (and two straight on the girls side). Miller noted Shehata and Jackson have been part of a program with only one dual-meet loss in four years and a conference championship every season.
Next up for Galesburg is the Sectional Championship meet Feb. 21 at United Township High School.
