Melodie Ann ‘Mel’ Eagle

Melodie Ann “Mel” Eagle, 77, of Williamsfield, Illinois, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 29, 2026.

Mel was born on August 24, 1948, in Galesburg, Illinois, to Samuel and Beverly (Daniels) Tucker.

She married Willard “Butch” Kimler in June 1967. Together they had two daughters: Tracie Kimler-Peterson (Mike Alford) and Annette (Charlie) Sams.

She later married Bradley “Brad” Eagle in June 1980. He brought two more daughters to the family: Lisa Bohannan and Melisa Eagle.

Mel is survived by her daughters; grandchildren, Jeremy (Molly), Lacy, James, Ava (Jordan), Rachel (Kyle), Alivia (Jacob), Tucker (Gracie), Calvin, Lorin (Gionna), Michael, Lewis; six great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters; siblings, Diana Biddle and William “Bill” (Gale) Tucker; mother-in-law Lola Mohr; sister-in-law Cheryl Koeritz; and brother-in-law Richard “Rick” (Ruth) Eagle; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mel was preceded in death by her husband Brad, her parents, and in-laws Delbert and Kay Eagle, and Wayne Mohr.

Mel graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1966. She worked at Gale Products until they closed in the mid-1980s. She then worked at Knox County Nursing Home until her retirement.

She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She and Brad enjoyed traveling with friends and spending time at the lake swimming and fishing. Mel also enjoyed playing softball and bowling. Mel was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, watching them on TV and going to Wrigley Field when able.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 3, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Williamsfield United Methodist Church in Williamsfield, with a graveside service following at Williamsfield Cemetery.
