Fresh from Galesburg: Inside the 2025 farmers market season

The Galesburg Farmers Market kicks off the 2025 season Saturday, May 2, at 362 E. Simmons St. in Downtown Galesburg. From 8 a.m. to noon, you’ll find early spring veggies, local meats, eggs, honey, handmade crafts, and more, all while supporting small farms and the local community.

Kathy Walker, the organizer of the Galesburg Farmers Market, joined Galesburg's Morning News to preview the event, which runs every Saturday from May through September.

A new addition this year is the Pop Club for Kids, a program every third Saturday that teaches children aged 4-12 about healthy eating and financial literacy through fun activities and market vouchers. There also will be Galesburg Farmers Market tote bags on opening day.
