On Tuesday, the newest class of George Washington Gale Scholars in the Galesburg School District was inducted. If all are successful in keeping grades up through all four years of high school, they will be able to attend Carl Sandburg and/or Knox Colleges tuition free. That’s in addition to the chance to learn other skills that will be beneficial to them for the rest of their lives. The program is a collaboration between District 205 and the colleges.
Steve Cheesman, the Gale Scholars program coordinator, talks with Will Stevenson on Galesburg’s Morning News.
