The campaign runs the next three Fridays—August 22, 29, and September 5—building on last year’s $31,000 haul, which ranked Galesburg second in Illinois, just behind Chicago.
The discussion celebrates the fire department’s legacy, from its first Fill the Boot in 1954 to raising over $618,000 since 1997. Funds aid 29 Galesburg families with MDA services, supporting care, research, and advocacy for neuromuscular diseases.
