Timmons founded Jet Air Inc. in 1969, serving as its president until 2023 and transforming the airport into a hub for recreational pilots, corporations, and businesses. With well over 20,000 flying hours, an airline transport pilot certificate, and roles as an FAA-designated pilot examiner and flight instructor, he has mentored countless aviation professionals and earned induction into the Illinois Aviation Hall of Fame in 2011. A key figure in the Stearman Fly-In since 1971, Timmons discusses his career, the airport’s 2023 FAA regional status upgrade, and Galesburg’s aviation legacy.
