Living through California wildfires is nothing new for Galesburg native John Funkhouser, but nonetheless, this week’s fires have been especially devastating and deadly.

Despite living just 5 miles from The Palisades fire, west of Los Angeles, Funkhouser's home remains without power as of Thursday morning, but managed to avoid any damage.

A 1981 Galesburg High School graduate and a California transplant for 30 years, Funkhouser joined WGIL's Jay Redfern and Tyler Gumm on Galesburg's Morning News early Thursday from his home in Agoura Hills to talk about the wildfires.
