The last time Reserve Artisan Ales ran a 5K alongside Lagtoberfest, the race went off at 8 a.m., and the timing didn’t quite work. “People weren’t ready to crush a beer and have some lunch at 9 a.m.,” Lindsay Benedict said. So this year the race starts at 10. Lagtoberfest and the 5K return to downtown Galesburg on Saturday, Sept. 19, hosted by Reserve Artisan Ales owners Blake and Lindsay Benedict. The festival is free and runs all day at the brewery; the 5K, which benefits the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild, steps off at 10 a.m. with packet pickup from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Registration is $40 through Sept. 6 with a guaranteed shirt, $45 after that, and $50 the day of.
