WGIL’s Jay Redfern sits down with Peyton Isaacson, 2015 Galesburg High grad and 2023 Hall of Famer, for a 30-minute podcast. Peyton, a record-setting quarterback, led the Silver Streaks to two state playoff appearances—a first for any GHS QB—with school records in passing yards and touchdowns. Hear him share stories of turning around the football program, beating rival Moline after 23 years, and the electric atmosphere of Friday nights at Van Dyke Field. Peyton also reflects on his leadership as a captain, his family’s storied legacy with his dad Jami and grandpa Jim, and his journey to a 2016 College World Series title with Coastal Carolina and pro baseball career in the Frontier League. In a fun rapid-fire, Peyton admits his dad might outhit him in a clutch moment.
