Reflections and Future Goals: Peter Schwartzman excited for second term as Galesburg mayor

Mayor Peter Schwartzman will lead Galesburg for another four years. In a rematch of the 2021 mayoral election, the incumbent defeated former two-term mayor John Pritchard in Tuesday's consolidated election.

He talked about:

  • Factors contributing to his victory.
  • The message he wants to convey to the residents of Galesburg after his win, including those who supported his opponent.
  • How he plans to bridge divides within the City Council and move forward collaboratively.
  • Key priorities and goals for a second term.
  • Lessons learned from his first term as mayor.
