The number 9 team in class 4a, Geneseo, came to Van Dyke Field Friday night for Galesburg's homecoming game. The visitors wasted little time getting on the scoreboard engineering a 11 play scoring drive, capped off by a 16 yard touchdown pass by A.J. Weller to tight end Luke Johnson for a 7-0 lead. After the teams traded punts, the Streaks drove 84 yards and cut the lead to 7-3 on a Sam Satisky 25 yard field goal. That is as close as the Streaks would get however, as the Maple Leafs went on to outscore Galesburg 36-0 the rest of the way.
Geneseo(5-0) racked up 350 yards rushing, led by Jeron Neal's 11 carries for 124 yards and 3 touchdowns. Neal scored on runs of 70,20, and 6 yards. Galesburg(1-4) was paced by Amarie Richardson's 108 yards on 18 carries. Jamar Range added 48 yards on 5 carries.
The Dave's Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game was Jamar Range. The Streaks return to action next week at the number 8 team in class 7a 5-0 Quincy.
