The Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team fell in their first game of the Taylorville Holiday Tournament to the Rochester Rockets , 76-61. The Streaks were down behind early after a 7-0 Rochester start. While the Streaks did cut the lead to 4 points, the Rockets went on a 13-0 run at the end of the first quarter into the start of the second. After that, Galesburg found themselves trying to fight their way back.

The Streaks fall to 4-9 on the season, while Rochester improves to 6-3.

The story of the day for the Streaks as a team was their turnover margin. They averaged a turnover a minute with 32 total turnovers. Additionally, the Streaks went 24 of 40 from the field, 5 of 14 from three, and 8 of 13 at the free throw line. The boys also finished with 34 rebounds and 10 assists. The Streaks has three players score double digits: Keigen Crummer (13), Jackson Crock Sibbing (12), and Ethan Oxley (10).

Ethan Oxley was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. He had a solid day from the beginning as he scored in every quarter. Along with his 10 points, Oxley finished with 8 rebounds.
