REPLAY: GHS Silver Streaks girls basketball @ East Peoria | Regional Semifinal

The Galesburg Silver Streaks girls basketball team advanced in the postseason by knocking off the East Peoria Raiders, 57 - 25, Monday night at the East Peoria Regional.
Leading the way for the Silver Streaks was Khloe May with 11 points, Ella Herchenroder chipped in 10, Grace Herchenroder finished with 9, Zaniyah Carter had 8, and Ellie Johnson had 7 points. Overall, it was not the best shooting night for the Streaks with 23 of 58 from the field, just 5 of 23 from three-point range, and 6 of 16 from the free throw line. They pulled down 35 rebounds, had 15 assists, and committed 16 turnovers while forcing 30 turnovers by the Raiders.
Senior Khloe May made the most of her first career start and was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. In addition to scoring 11 points, Khloe finished with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. She just hounded the Raiders on defense with her ability to press and force turnovers, as well as using her speed to get back on transition and cause them problems.
The Galesburg girls will play for a Regional Championship Thursday night at East Peoria High School. Mitch McVey and Jason Wessels will have game day coverage starting with the pregame at 5:45pm on 93.7 FM and 1400 AM WGIL and wgil.com.
