REPLAY: GHS Silver Streaks girls basketball @ LaSalle-Peru

The Galesburg Silver Streaks girls basketball team moved to 23 - 3 on the season as they went on the road to LaSalle-Peru and came away with a resounding win over the Lady Cavaliers, 66 - 29.

Leading the way for the Streaks was sophomore Zaniyah Carter with 16 points, Lily Furrow had 12, Ella Herchenroder and Isabelle Kennedy both scored 7, while Khloe May, Olivia Springer, and Grace Herchenroder each finished with 5 points. Galesburg shot 27 of 53 from the field, 7 of 17 from three-point range, and 5 of  7 from the free throw line. They pulled down 23 rebounds, had 11 assists, and committed 11 turnovers to 28 by the Lady Cavaliers.

Senior Olivia Springer was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. Off the bench, she knocked down a 3-point shot and finished with 5 points, had a rebound and a steal.

Next up for the Silver Streaks is Senior Night at John Thiel Gym when they take on the Geneseo Maple Leafs. Mitch McVey and Jason Wessels will have live coverage beginning with the pregame at 6:45pm on 93.7 FM and 1400 AM WGIL and wgil.com.
