In their first Western Big 6 Conference game, the Silver Streaks girls basketball team defeated the Alleman Pioneers, 58-23. The Streaks extend their undefeated start to the season to five games and add a conference win to that record.
Zaniyah Carter led the team in scoring with 11 points. Taylor Herchenroder, Grace Herchenroder, and Eleanor Johnson scored 9 points each and Jozalyn Kilgore added 7. The Streaks went 23 of 41 overall from the field, 8 of 17 from the 3-point line, and 4 of 9 from the charity stripe. Galesburg had 26 rebounds as well as 16 assists on 17 turnovers.
For the second straight game, Zaniyah Carter was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. Along with her 11 points, she finished with 3 assists and 3 steals.
