Thursday night, the Galesburg Silver Streaks girls basketball team moved to 24 - 3 on the season and 10 - 2 in the Western Big 6 Conference with a 70 21 victory over the Geneseo Maple Leafs on Senior Night at John Thiel Gymnasium.
Honored before the game were seniors Lily Furrow, Sophia Kisler, Khloe May, and Olivia Springer.
The Silver Streaks were led in scoring by Lily Furrow with 19 points, Ellie Johnson contributed 13 off the bench, Jozalyn Kilgore had 10, Ella Herchenroder had 6, and Izzy Kennedy finished with 5 points. . Overall, the Streaks had 11 players who scored in the game. They shot 30 of 70 from the field, 3 of 17 from three-point range, and 7 of 8 from the free throw line. They pulled down 41 rebounds with 26 of those on offense, had 17 assists, and committed 11 turnovers to 36 by the Maple Leafs. Also, the Streaks' outstanding defense limited Geneseo to just 6 or less shots in each quarter.
Lily Furrow was absolutely amazing on Senior Night and was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. In addition to scoring the 19 points, she finished with 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 steals.
