The Galesburg Silver Streaks girls basketball team continued the Coles County Holiday Tournament on Saturday with a win over the Marion Wildcats, 64-40. Marion battled the Silver Streaks throughout the first half; however Galesburg was able to enforce their will in the second half to get their third win of the tournament. The Streaks improve to 14-1 on the season and extend their win-streak to 8 games.

Zaniyah Carter led the Streaks in scoring with 13 points and was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game for stepping up in moments when she was most needed. Jozalyn Kilgore was the only other Streak to finish in double-figures with 12 points. Lily Furrow and Grace Herchenroder both contributed with 8.

The Streaks will play again tonight for a shot to win the tournament championship against the Teutopolis Lady Shoes. Teutopolis beat the Streaks in the championship last season, as Galesburg looks to get their revenge. Mitch McVey and Aaron Furrow will have the call starting with the pregame at 5:45pm on 93.7 FM and 1400 AM WGIL and wgil.com
