REPLAY: GHS Silver Streaks girls basketball vs Quincy

It was a thrilling Western Big 6 conference match-up Thursday night at John Thiel Gym as the Galesburg girls basketball team battled the Quincy Blue Devils. With no time left on the clock at the end of the 4th quarter, Quincy made 3 free throws to tie the Streaks and push the game to overtime. The game ended up going into double overtime but the Silver Streaks came away with a hard-earned victory over the Blue Devils, 76 - 71. The Streaks are now 8 - 1 on the season and 3 - 1 in conference play.

Grace Herchenroder stepped up huge in the 2nd half and was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. She finished with 21 points, including five three-pointers, a steal, as well as a couple of rebounds and assists.

Jozalyn Kilgore scored 16 points, Zaniyah Carter put up 13 points, Taylor Herchenroder finished with 11 points, and both Ella Herchenroder and Lily Furrow contributed 8 points. Overall, the Streaks shot 26 of 43 from the field, 9 of 19 from beyond the arc, and 15 of 24 from the charity stripe. They pulled down 19 rebounds, had 21 assists, and committed just 12 turnovers.
