In their first home game in almost a month, the Galesburg High School boys basketball team scored their per game season average (51 points) in the first half on their way to an 89-77 win over Peoria Quest Saturday afternoon. The Silver Streaks are now 8-19 on the season, with just three games left on the schedule.
It was an offensive battle with 129 shots attempted in the game between both teams. Everyone who played for Galesburg scored, including five players scoring double-digits. Jace Keith scored a career high 27 points, Tyree Taylor had 14, Ethan Oxley with 12, and Gino Williams finished with 10 points and a double-double with 11 rebounds. Overall, the Silver Streaks shot 61% from the field, 34% from 3-point range, and 77% from the free-throw line going 14 of 18. Galesburg out-rebounded Peoria Quest 41 to 30.
As he he set a new personal career high in scoring, Jace Keith was named the Dave’s Auto Body Crunch-Time Player of the Game. He finished with 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. His career high was previously 25 points, which he set in the Thanksgiving Tournament against Ogden.
