Step Up: Galesburg’s Soles4Souls Shoe Drive

Galesburg has launched a shoe drive to collect 20,000 pairs of gently used shoes for Soles4Souls, a nonprofit that’s been transforming lives worldwide since 2006.

Penny Wagner, the local organizer of this drive, joined Galesburg's Morning News to talk about the mission.

Soles4Souls has distributed 94 million pairs of shoes worldwide since 2006.

Initially, the goal was 5,000 pairs locally, which then increased to 10,000, and now the community has already collected over 20,000, with Wagher intending to continue as long as shoes are available.

You can drop off shoes at:

  • 6140Run, 185 W. Main St.
  • Tres Cafe, 1135 Lincoln St.
  • Orange Cup Side Hustle, 2701 E. Main St.
  • First Presbyterian Church, 101 N. Prairie St.
  • Penny Wagher's front porch at 488 Jefferson St.
