Summer Enrichment Unlocked: Inside Knox College4Kids

There’s an exciting summer opportunity for kids right here in Galesburg: the Knox College 4 Kids program. This enrichment program is back, offering unique learning experiences for young minds.
Mary Lyons, Director of Teacher Education at Knox College and director of Knox College4Kids, and Mindi Ritchie, assistant superintendent of Human Resources and Student Supports with Galesburg District 205, joined WGIL's Jay Redfern and Tyler Gumm on Galesburg's Morning News to share all about this year’s program and how families can register before the May 16 deadline.
Hosted at Knox College from July 7-18, it's described as a summer enrichment program offering unique learning experiences that are not typical of a general public school curriculum. The aim is to provide experiential learning opportunities and expose young minds to a college campus environment.
Classes are taught by a diverse group including Galesburg public school teachers, Knox College faculty and community educators.
Knox College4Kids is just one of the summer enrichment opportunities available for District 205 students. The district encourages families to take advantage of the scholarships available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
