The Turnout 2025: Record-breaking grants for local nonprofits

In this episode of WGIL’s Galesburg’s Morning News, Josh Gibb, President and CEO of the Galesburg Community Foundation, joins us to discuss the 2025 Turnout Grant Cycle, which awarded a record-breaking $550,000 to 42 nonprofits across Knox, Warren, and Henderson counties.

Josh explains how The Turnout connects donors with local nonprofits through a storytelling approach, fully funding projects in arts, health, education, and nonprofit capacity. He shares how increased donor-advised fund engagement drove this year’s success, the Foundation’s focus on building permanent endowments for long-term impact, and how anyone can get involved, from starting a $10,000 fund to contributing smaller gifts.
