Tuesday Çetin, Executive Director of the Galesburg Community Arts Center, joins Galesburg’s Morning News to preview the 17th annual Great, Great, GREAT Bowls of Soup fundraiser—back in full in-person glory on Thursday, November 13th! 🎨🍲
After years of to-go and hybrid formats, this beloved tradition returns with soup tastings across three floors, charcuterie, desserts from nearly 10 local restaurants, live music, a silent auction, and the ultimate treasure hunt for your perfect handmade bowl (over 200 unique pieces from 25+ artists).
Hear why the bowls are the true stars, the “bowl bouncers” enforcing the no-holding rule, and why tickets are limited to just 200 ($50 general, $65 early access at 4:30 PM). With only ~80 left, they’re going FAST.
This critical fundraiser powers 160+ free and low-cost programs—like Kids Month, First Fridays, exhibitions, and partnerships with the NAACP and Great Galesburg Balloon Races—keeping arts accessible for kids, adults, and seniors. Less than 3% state funding, zero local taxes… your support makes it happen!
Plus:
- New Katherine Knott Memorial Scholarship for clay/wheel-throwing students
- $250 Arts in the Classroom Award for teachers
- GCAC updates: Jenny Chi exhibit (thru Nov 15), Merry Market (opens Nov 22), renovations, future kitchen + music studio
🎟️ Tickets: https://galesburgarts.org (or call the Arts Center)
