46th National Stearman Fly-In

6:36 am: Dawn Patrol flights launch to Southeast Iowa Regional Airport, Burlington.
7:00 – 10:00 am: Dawn Patrol Flight Breakfast at Southeast Iowa Regional Airport, Burlington. Sponsored by EAA Chapter 700. Menu: Egg casserole, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, juice, coffee, milk, water. Price: $8 for full order with drinks, $5 for half order. Free breakfast for pilot-in-command of each arriving Stearman courtesy of Heartland Harley-Davidson (Bob Knoll), Burlington.
1:00 – 3:00 pm: Children’s activities in Jet Air, Inc. hangar, Galesburg Municipal Airport. Kids’ flight simulator experience hosted by Ric and Lisa Woldow, Morton, IL.
1:00 – 4:00 pm: “East to Meet the Enemy” book signing by Galesburg author William M. Tarrant. In front of Stearman Fly-In office.
1:00 pm: Formation Flying contest briefing at Stearman Fly-In seminar tent, Galesburg Municipal Airport.
1:30 pm: Formation flying contest, Galesburg Municipal Airport.
2:30 pm: Aerobatics demonstrations featuring David Brown, Warrenton, VA, in his stock Stearman, Lee Crouch, Liberty, MO, in his 450-horsepower Stearman, and Greg Vallero, St. Charles, MO, in his AT-6.
3:00 pm: Parade of Flight, an airborne history of Stearman aircraft, over Galesburg Municipal Airport.
7:00 pm: National Stearman Fly-In Annual Banquet and Awards Presentations at Jet Air Hangar, Galesburg Municipal Airport. Serving until 8 p.m. Catered by Cerar’s Barnstormer, Monmouth. Menu: Carved prime rib, parmesan crusted chicken, holiday potatoes, fruit salad, broccoli salad, corn, rolls and butter. Tickets $25. Tickets, on sale at the Fly-In office, should be purchased by Friday, Sept. 8. Awards sponsored in part with a donation by an Anonymous Galesburg Resident.
