American Red Cross: Lifeguard Certification Course

Date: September 29 (pre-skills testing); October 14, 15 and 16
Times: 9/29 – 5:00-6:30PM; 10/14 – 9AM-4:30PM; 10/15 – 9AM-7PM; 10/16 – 9 AM-4:30PM
Cost: $250 per participant
Age Requirement: Must be 15 years of age on or before the final scheduled session
Location: Hawthorne Pool

The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services personnel take over.

You must be able to pass a prerequisite skills evaluation consisting of various skills. Additional details on course content can be found in the attachments on the registration page. Participants are responsible for completing the online coursework and submitting documentation of completion prior to weekend of training.
