DESCRIPTION:Open to the public! Join the Farmington Moose Lodge as they help a local family in need of support by holding a Fish Fry with plenty of sides and baked goods. Anyone wanting to donate baked goods\, please drop off at the Moose on Saturday\, March 22th at 10 am. \nLynea Ulm is a 14-year old that has been in the hospital since Feb 3rd battling a number of life-threatening respiratory illnesses including H1N1 Influenza\, covid\, and necrotizing pneumonia. Lynea has undergone surgeries and transfusions as she fights for her life at the Children’s Hospital in Peoria and now at Luries Children Hospital in Chicago. There is still a long road ahead. \nProceeds from the Fish Fry will be donated to the Ulm Family to help with the mounting expenses for travel and more. Contact Lisa Welker with any questions.

DESCRIPTION:Join the ROWVA Jr/Sr High School students as they perform Night of Neverland\, written by Patti Veconi. \nIt is Petrea’s birthday slumber party\, but she doesn’t feel like celebrating because she will soon be going away to boarding school. Her girlfriends play a hypnosis game to make her feel better\, but are then shocked to find that Petrea really believes she is Peter Pan! When a group of boys arrive to crash the party\, everyone becomes involved in a charade of Neverland characters\, gender-bending their way through a scene with boys pretending to be mermaids and fairies and girls acting as pirates and the “lost boys.” Only a clever boy\, disguised as Wendy\, can snap Petrea out of her Peter Pan hypnosis in time to clean the house and get the party crashers gone before her parents come home. To thank him\, Petrea gives him a thimble\, a symbol of affection not lost on this boy. \nTickets are $5 for ROWVA students or $7 for general public. Doors open 30 minutes before show time.

SUMMARY:Spring Fling Scrabble Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The “Spring Fling Tournament” will consist of two one-day Scrabble tournaments on Saturday\, April 5 and Sunday\, April 6 at the Galesburg Community Arts Center\, 349 E. Main St. \nBoth tournaments are sanctioned by WGPO (Word Games Players’ Organization) and will be rated. This will be the second Scrabble tournament organized by Peter Schwartzman and Darla Krejci.  They are partnering with the Galesburg Community Arts Center and the Galesburg Tourism Bureau in bringing this tournament to town. \nThe tournaments will be held in the third floor ballroom of the Galesburg Community Arts Center. The two tournaments will each consist of seven head-to-head games after which a winner will be determined. There will be two dictionary sections: (1) WOW\, which is considered the current American Scrabble Dictionary for tournaments; and\, (2) CSW\, which consist of words in the Collins (Global) dictionary. The WOW section will likely have at least three divisions based on the rating of the players. People do not need to have an official rating to play\, but they do need to join WGPO whose membership is free. \n“We encourage local Scrabble players to participate.  It may sound intimidating\, but the way the divisions are set up\, you will be playing with other Scrabble players at an equal skill level.
