Brahm’s Requiem
May 6, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
$12Johannes Brahms wrote his famous Requiem after the death of his mother and first performed it in 1868. Considered to be Brahms’ masterpiece, the seven-movement work has been called transcendent and awe-inspiring. Set for chorus, orchestra, and soprano and baritone soloists, it is a deeply personal expression of hope and comfort for those who have experienced loss. This exciting performance will feature a combination of three choral groups, including the Galesburg Community Chorus, the Knox College Choir, and the Monmouth College Chorale, under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Laura Lane.
