Galesburg Public Library Foundation Tea Party

The Galesburg Public Library Foundation will be hosting a Afternoon Tea Party on Friday, June 23 from 2 to 4:30 pm at the Library’s Sanderson Conference Room.
The Event is a fundraiser to benefit the Galesburg Public Library and will be held to commemorate the 180th birthday of Mary Allen West. Miss West was the first child born in the Galesburg Colony, at Log City in 1837. She went on to be a renowned educator, author, philanthropist, missionary, and was the first female elected Superintendent of Schools in Galesburg.
The tea party will be conducted by the Victorian Tea Party Ladies and will be a fun, educational, and entertaining event for all.
Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available at the Library’s Circulation Desk for $10.00 each. Only 50 tickets will be sold for the event, so people interested in attending must purchase their tickets soon.
Regular and gluten free fancies will be available at the Party, Gluten free will be available only with advance notice.
The Sanderson Conference Room is available by elevator.
Miss West requests no gifts at the Tea Party, but hopes participants will wear their fanciest hats!
