Garden Walk

The University of Illinois Extension Knox County Master Gardeners are volunteers who educate the community through many activities and opportunities.

This event will be a fun family experience. Let our Master Gardeners help answer your garden related questions while touring the garden sites. Children may participate in a scavenger hunt and will have the opportunity to find a painted rock to take home (while supplies last). Demonstrations by Master Gardeners on identifying, dividing, potting and pruning plants; irrigating; preparing delicious food with fresh produce from the garden and more!

Tour the four main sites where you will find Master Gardener volunteers helping others learn to grow.
*Carl Sandburg State Historic Site

Special Experience: A historic garden scavenger hunt!

*Carl Sandburg Community College Garden
2400 Tom L Wilson Blvd in Galesburg
Special Experience: A cooking and gardening demonstration will be
presented. Kids will have a chance to sprout their own seed!

*Knox County Fairgrounds
1328 Henderson Rd in Knoxville
Special Experience: Explore our display gardens and monarch
waystations.

*Knox County Nursing Home
800 N Market St in Knoxville
Special Experience: Take home a potted Lenten Rose (while
supplies last).

You may begin at any one of the four sites.
Visitors may enter to win a door prize at each site. (One entry per visitor per site)
