DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Saturday\, October 11th\, 2025\, for our 2nd annual 5K Fun Run & 1 Mile Walk & Wag. Our 5K will start at 9 am and our 1 Mile Walk & Wag will begin at 9:30 am\, race packets can be picked up on Race Day after 8 am. All medal winners for their divisions will be given out after our 1 Mile Walk & Wag. Well-behaved pets on leashes are welcome to come. Both races will start and finish at First Christian Church\, 514 N Sunny Ln\, Monmouth\, IL 61462. * Children 6 years old and under are free to participate in the 1-mile walk with a registered adult. *On-Site Restrooms will be available* \nThere will be medals for 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place finishers in the 5K for Men\, Women\, and 17 & Under Divisions. There will also be a prize for the 1st dog across the finish line and our top Virtual 5K finisher. \n5K Registration fee $25 before September 26th\, 2025- to guarantee your t-shirt on race day. \n1Mile Registration fee $20 before September 26th\, 2025- to guarantee your t-shirt on race day. \n***Addition to our Event: Do you want to help support our Rescue and participate in our event\, but live out of state or are busy? No Problem. We have decided to add a virtual portion to our 5K! Anyone interested in signing up for registration will be able to turn in their hours starting Sept 26th through October 10th. During your registration\, you will have the option to have a t-shirt shipped to you\, which is included in your registration fee\, or donate the cost of your t-shirt back to the rescue instead of us shipping you one. After you sign up\, you will have until Friday\, October 10th\, 2025\, at 11:59 pm to submit your time to our email freedomrideanimalrescue@gmail.com\, and we will post the result on our Facebook page and website. We would ask that you include a link to your run on the app that you use or a photo of your time to complete. A Medal for the first-place finisher overall will be awarded for the Virtual 5K.

The Spoon River\, which starts at Medina\, has carved a wide scenic valley through Fulton County as it flows from London Mills to the south and east where it joins the Illinois River near the southeastern corner of the county. Fulton County offers unusual beauty of the colors throughout the Spoon River Valley\, which inspired founders to hold the first  Spoon River Valley Scenic Drive. The Scenic Drive has been held each year during the first two full weekends of October since 1968. \nThe entire Spoon River Valley Scenic Drive covers 140 driven miles\, and includes: Bernadotte\, Canton\, Cuba\, Duncan Mills\, Farmington\, Lewistown\, Native Trails Winery\, Red Brick School\, and SRJ Winery.

DESCRIPTION:Our Annual Scenic Drive Sundays Biscuits and Gravy Fundraiser will be held on Sundays October 5 and 12\, from 7a.m. to 1p.m. We will be serving all you can eat biscuits and sausage gravy along with your choices of coffee\, ice tea\, milk\, or orange juice for a free will donation. Proceeds this year to be used to purchase additional equipment for our new to us pumper-tanker. This will be held at the Ellisville Fire Station at 125 W. Main St. in Ellisville.

The Spoon River\, which starts at Medina\, has carved a wide scenic valley through Fulton County as it flows from London Mills to the south and east where it joins the Illinois River near the southeastern corner of the county. Fulton County offers unusual beauty of the colors throughout the Spoon River Valley\, which inspired founders to hold the first  Spoon River Valley Scenic Drive. The Scenic Drive has been held each year during the first two full weekends of October since 1968. \nThe entire Spoon River Valley Scenic Drive covers 140 driven miles\, and includes: Bernadotte\, Canton\, Cuba\, Duncan Mills\, Farmington\, Lewistown\, Native Trails Winery\, Red Brick School\, and SRJ Winery.
