Learn about the solar eclipse at Galesburg Public Library

August 9, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

A total eclipse of the Sun will be visible in the continental United States for the first time in almost 40 years this upcoming August 21st. To prepare for this exciting event, come join Dr. Nathalie Haurberg, Knox College Assistant Professor of Physics, for a fun and informational program at Galesburg Public Library on Wednesday, August 9th at 3:00 PM. You’ll learn about what causes eclipses, how best to view them, and even get a chance to look through a solar telescope. Program is free and open to all ages; please register in the Children’s Room.

This program will also be your first chance to get a free pair of safe-viewing eclipse glasses; these glasses will be available at the library after August 9th while supplies last.
