The Devil in Sherman Marsh
Thursday, May 2, 2019 @ 7:00 pm
FreeM-RJHS 21st CCLC V.O.I.C.E. Program will present The Devil in Sherman Marsh Thursday, May 2, at 7:00pm at the M-RHS Auditorium, 325 West 1st Avenue in Monmouth. Admission is free and open to the public.
Written by Don Zolidis, the play tells the story of long-suffering nerd Sherman Marsh whose love for Yu-Gi-Oh is second, perhaps, only to his love for Amber Thompson. When he stumbles across the rare “Lucifer” card, Sherman finds himself with an opportunity to improve his social standing and win Amber’s heart. But at what cost?
M-RJHS V.O.I.C.E. Program sponsored this spring’s production with funding from the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant, obtained by Superintendent Jodi Scott and the Regional Office of Education #33 staff. The show features current seventh and eighth graders as an educational and creative opportunity for M-RJHS students. The play is directed by M-RHS teacher and drama director Melissa Agar with assistance from M-RHS students Tim Pence, Graham Young, Tanner Trego, Allie Lewis, Zakari Ortery, and Mourtala Thioubou.
The cast includes Collin Nuckles (Sherman), Molly Mattan (Amber), Hollis Narkiewicz (Lucifer), Zoe Ortery (Miss Grace), Naomi Duke (Jane), Veronica Seward (Tanya), Jersey Crandall (Robyn), Ashley Theel (Jessica), Alexis Murphy (Nora), Essence Brown (Mrs. Parker), Emma Ferry (Mrs. Bell), and Bright Akou Doh (Angelic Love Mother).
The Devil in Sherman Marsh is made possible through special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc.
