ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. (AP) — Suburban Chicago police say an Uber driver fired gunshots at a passenger who threw a rock at his vehicle and shattered its moon roof.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports 44-year-old driver Marvin White of Bolingbrook was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and ordered held on a $75,000 bond.
The passenger, Alan Slawson of Rolling Meadows, was charged with felony criminal damage to property and ordered held on a $50,000 bond.
Rolling Meadows police say Slawson was among three people getting a ride from White early Saturday when they said they were getting out. Police say Slawson and White began arguing, and Slawson threw the rock. They say White then shot at Slawson and missed, then fired again as the three fled. No one was hit by the gunfire.
