Fatal Crash Presentation To Take Place Monday at GHS

9-4-14 Galesburg High SchoolA presentation will take place Monday that focuses on the lives of Galesburg teenagers killed by car crashes in recent years.

The 90-minute presentation is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. at Galesburg High School.

According to a press release, presenters will include Karen Kistler and her husband Dennis. Kistler is the Nanna of 15-year-old Kylie Allen, who lost her life in a crash alongside 17-year-old KaLee Pringle last month.

Angie McCarthy will also present her story. McCarthy lost her son, 18-year-old Tyson Twitchell in a car wreck back in 2013.

Jennifer Higgins of Geneseo is scheduled to speak about her 12-year-old son as well. The child, who was not named, reportedly took his own life as a result of bullying.

The group will present and perform through the Messages Which are Hopeful Performing Arts Troupe.

Kistler and McCarthy are expected to discuss how the crashes and deaths affect family and friends.

State Representative Don Moffitt will also be in attendance. He will speak to audience members about a bi-partisan bill that calls for a refund of costs upon reversal of conviction.

Monday’s presentation and performance takes place in the main auditorium.
