Galesburg City Council members will likely take a vote tonight on the city’s budget for the upcoming year.
The expected vote comes on the heels of a work session that took place last week, where aldermen verbally signed off on a long list of infrastructure and street repairs through a multi-year Capital Improvement Plan.
Work to parts of the Farnham Street bridge, maintenance to the armory building, and re-pavement and brick overlaying of a number of city streets are just a few of the items included in that plan.
The work is being funded through a $10 Million bond and the utility tax that passed earlier this year.
The overall 2016 budget comes in at just over $59 Million. Council will convene tonight in City Hall at 6:30 p.m.
