Cynthia L. Lantz, 69, of Monmouth, IL, died at 9:06 a.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Seminary Manor, Galesburg, IL.
She was born April 18, 1946 in Prairie City, IL, the daughter of Chester L. and Garnet I. (Weaver) Taft. Cynthia was raised and educated in Monmouth, and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1962.
Cindy married Donald E. Lantz in Moline, IL, on Sept. 10, 1966. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2007.
Cindy was a homemaker. She volunteered with the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, and she was the Chairperson for Warren County’s Daffodil Days. Cindy enjoyed reading, gardening, and crafts.
Survivors include her daughters, Kelley M. Lantz of Monmouth, Stacey M. (Jimmy) Dutton, Kirkwood, IL, and her grand dogs; Daisy and Maggie. Also surviving is special friend Betty Anderson of Monmouth, nephews and nieces including Teresa Kreps of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2016, at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Cremation rites have been accorded, a private family interment will be in Monmouth Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
