ST. LOUIS (AP) — The St. Louis Cardinals acquired outfielder Jose Martinez from the Kansas City Royals for cash considerations Wednesday.
The 27-year-old Martinez was playing for Triple-A Omaha and has been assigned to Triple-A Memphis. He was hitting .298 with three home runs and 18 RBIs at Omaha.
The Cardinals moved right-handed pitcher Mitch Harris (elbow) to the 60-day disabled list to make room for Martinez on the 40-man roster.
