Here is a recap of tonight’s Homecoming game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:
“Galesburg Silver Streaks scored on their opening drive of the game but a turnover allowed Alleman to take a 7-6 lead in the 2nd quarter. The Silver Streaks shutdown the Pioneers from that point forward, scored once in each quarter for the game, and won their homecoming game 28-7 over the Pioneers, their second consecutive victory over Alleman. It’s the first time the Streaks have done that since winning three straight in 1991-1993. DeAndre Moren lead the Streaks offensively with 19 carries, 121 yards, and a touchdown. Kobe Ramirez and Jacob Ross also had rushing touchdowns in the game. And Ross had a 41 yard touchdown pass to Fernando Diaz.
“Ross was 5/6 passing in the game for 119 yards. The Streaks improve to 6-1 on the season, 3-1 in the Western Big 6, by virtue of their 28-7 win over the Pioneers. Galesburg Sophomores lost a tough one, 28-26. Galesburg next heads to Rock Island next Friday night to try and secure their seventh win of the season and improve what is now a certainty in the playoff positions. Galesburg wins it, again, 28-7 on homecoming over Alleman.”
Our Dave’s Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game is Fernando Diaz. He earned this for his 41 yard touchdown catch in the 3rd quarter. He then also turned right around and got an interception for the Streaks.
