Jesse Paul Pacheco, age 79, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 10:28 A.M. on Friday, June 9, 2017 at his home in Galesburg surrounded by his family.
Jesse was born on August 22, 1937 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Joseph and Tedora Gomez Pacheco. He married Diana L. Jacobs on July 25, 1992 in Rock Island, Illinois.
Surviving is his wife, Diana of Galesburg, Illinois; his children: David (Gail) Pacheco of O’Fallon, Missouri, Mark Pacheco of Galesburg, Illinois, Jeffrey (Joan) Pacheco of Galesburg, Illinois, Twins: Darren (Toni) Pacheco of Colorado and Karen (Mark) Martinez of Fort Madison, Iowa; two step children: Tracey (David) Cuevas of Galesburg, Illinois and Tiffany Charles of Galesburg, Illinois; Fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy (Bobby) Gonzales of Davenport, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his Parents, twelve brothers and sisters.
He worked as a forklift drive for the former Alton Box starting in 1956. He retired from Jefferson Smirfit in 2002. He attended Northwoods Community Church in Galesburg, Illinois. He enjoyed woodworking and golf; he was an avid CUBS fan. He liked to bartend and was called the “Pretender”.
Private graveside services will be held at 10:00 on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the East Linwood Scattering Gardens. Chaplain Vincent Marella will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Beacon of Hope Hospice. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville is in charge of arrangements.
