Here’s a re-cap of tonight’s game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:
Galesburg High School football team made it look easy early, scoring on its first three possessions, struggled through the middle part of the second quarter, then got a late touchdown right before halftime and cruised to a 44-12 win over United Township on Homecoming.
With the win tonight, the Streaks are now 1-2 in the Western Big 6 and evens their record at 3-3 overall.
Kobe Ramirez had three rushing touchdowns, Clark Hawkins threw three touchdowns to Jacob Carl as he (Hawkins) earned the Dave’s Autobody Cruchtime Player of the Game. Hawkins had 153 yard through the air as Ramirez finished with 249 yards on the ground.
Galesburg sophomores also were big winners as it was 41-0 at halftime and the score didn’t change since then.
Silver Streaks are on the road next week at Augustana College to take on Alleman and we will have coverage of that game starting at 7:06 with the pre-game and a 7:45 scheduled kick-off.
