The Galesburg Sliver Streaks Girls basketball team bounced back after a tough early game on Saturday morning were they fell to a very good Washington team. 57 – 21 they came back and defeated St. Thomas More 49 – 27. The Streaks held Champaign to 18 % shooting from the field forced 21 turnovers and they out rebounded St. Thomas More 49- 36.
Sophomore Riley Jenkins led the way for the Streaks with 12 points all in the first half, she also had 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in the game which made her our Dave’s Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game.
The Streaks are now 2 and 1 on the season. They will open Western Big Six Conference play on Tuesday night when they play host to the Rock Island Rocks. You can catch that game right here or on 93.7 FM and 1400 AM, WGIL with pre-game coverage tipping off at 6:06 p.m.
